Here are some things I’ve found that were helpful.
Balls Out: A Column on Being Transgendered
Yes, the title is a little crude but the writing makes it worth it. There were a lot of things I could relate to here. Casey Plett also wrote a short story collection entitled A Safe Girl To Love, which is worth buying as well, in my opinion. She’s kind of like a Charlotte Bukowski, so if you’re into that kind of thing, check it out.
AOL True Trans
A web series produced and starring Laura Jane Grace of Against Me! It has a lot of good information and a lot of different stories from trans people(not just MtF) of all walks of life.
Ask a Gender Therapist
This is a blog maintained by my therapist. It’s really helpful, and she’s pretty great. If you live in Colorado I would highly recommend her for any gender therapy needs.
Transgender Health Care Center of Denver
Another good resource for Colorado folks looking to transition. Here is a doctor who works off of an informed consent model. Starting HRT was easier than getting my MMJ card.
One From The Vaults
This is a great trans history podcast. It contains a lot of good historical information about trans and gender non-conforming people in Western culture in the last 100 years. It’s definitely worth listening to.
If you haven’t already, go now and read Nevada by Imogen Binnie. You can download a .pdf at this site. Just do it, now.
Imogen Watches Classic Films
A cool podcast from the author of Nevada. Cool literary-style analysis of “classic” films. It’s informal but academic at the same time. She often discusses trans themes, tropes, and stuff. 5/5 would recommend.
I’ll add more stuff as I find it. Feel free to share suggestions.
